Telehealth

PATH Telehealth Booth: The Public Access Telehealth Spaces (PATHS) Initiative is based on a national model for promoting access to safe, secure, and accessible spaces to connect all community members to equitable health and wellness resources and services.

Talking Book & Braille Services

The Goshen County Library will work cooperatively with the representative of Visually Handicapped Services responsible for serving Goshen County to provide this type of service for those who qualify. The library will function as a referral center for people needing such service and for the representative of the Blind and Physically Handicapped program through the federal government.

Interlibrary Loans

Requests that cannot be met with available materials will be directed to another library to provide the requested material.

Kids in the Library

The library has the only indoor play and discovery space in Goshen County. Our Children’s Room and Torrington Rotary Youth Area include areas for weekly storytime, imaginative play with Montessori boards, a grocery store, a construction site, and other hands-on activities to encourage early literacy through play. Within this area, the library has invested in an extensive Wonderbook collection to engage reluctant readers and support caregivers with literacy-building conversations and activities. Each Wonderbook is a print book with a ready-to-play audiobook inside. The Wonderbook has two modes: read-aloud and learning. The learning mode engages the reader through guided comprehension questions. Caregivers have been thrilled to see how using Wonderbooks has improved their students’ reading scores and turned reluctant readers into engaged readers.

Storytimes- Tuesday and Wednesday mornings 10:15-10:45

Each Tuesday and Wednesday morning a staff member will present various stories and crafts for preschoolers. This storytime is geared towards 3-5-year-olds capable of participating independently of their adult caregivers. Caregivers are welcome to join in until the child is comfortable.
